ASAPconnect links out-of-school-time programs and assistance providers to partner more effectively, expand capabilities and improve program quality.
  • Connect to new opportunities. Assistance providers can set up a profile in the ASAP Directory to promote services and connect with thousands of California after school programs. Providers can share knowledge about promising practices, connect with new partners, plus get professional training and support to advance learning and improve quality of service.
  • Connect to expand capabilities. After school program staff can use the ASAP Directory to find relevant, up-to-date information about effective training, mentoring, coaching and consulting. Searches can be custom-tailored to specific program improvement needs.
  • Connect to make informed choices. The ASAP Directory helps everyone in the out-of-school-time field get a clearer picture of available after school assistance resources to make more strategic program, policy and funding decisions.


California AfterSchool Network (CAN)

The Mission of the California AfterSchool Network is to provide out-of-school time practitioners, advocates and community members with the resources and tools necessary to build high quality out-of-school time programs in California.

The Vision of the California AfterSchool Network is that California boasts an abundance of high quality out-of-school time opportunities that enable youth to maximize their potential.
  • Goal 1: Serve as a catalyst for high quality out-of-school time programs. The California AfterSchool Network supports and promotes high quality out-of-school time programs throughout California by providing information and resources to after school practitioners, advocates and community members to advance high quality after school programs.
  • Goal 2: Convene after school stakeholders and develop new after school leadership. The California AfterSchool Network provides multiple forums for out-of-school time stakeholders to build knowledge, skills and leadership on issues affecting the out-of-school time field.


California After School Resource Center (CASRC)

The California After School Resource Center (CASRC) supports quality after school programming throughout the state through its comprehensive website, access to a circulating library of research-based instructional materials, trainings and other supportive services and resources to providers to promote literacy and mathematics skills, as well as safe learning environments for youth in kindergarten through grade 12.

The purpose of the CASRC Consulting Team is to provide information and advice on the development of the Center's protocols and policies, including instructional material review criteria, selection of the Material Review Board, website content and other technical assistance services for after school programs.

The CASRC reviews instructional and professional materials for use in after school programs. The CASRC Material Review Board uses research-based review forms to evaluate materials. Materials evaluated as high quality are promoted on the CASRC website and print catalog, and are made available for statewide free loan.
