California After School Resource Center (CASRC)
The California After School Resource Center (CASRC) supports quality after school programming throughout the state through its comprehensive website, access to a circulating library of research-based instructional materials, trainings and other supportive services and resources to providers to promote literacy and mathematics skills, as well as safe learning environments for youth in kindergarten through grade 12.
The purpose of the CASRC Consulting Team is to provide information and advice on the development of the Center's protocols and policies, including instructional material review criteria, selection of the Material Review Board, website content and other technical assistance services for after school programs.
The CASRC reviews instructional and professional materials for use in after school programs. The CASRC Material Review Board uses research-based review forms to evaluate materials. Materials evaluated as high quality are promoted on the CASRC website and print catalog, and are made available for statewide free loan.
