Region VII After School Programs

Region VII Lead Office for
After School Programs

The California AfterSchool Network (CAN) announces the transition of the Executive Director, Andee Press-Dawson, to a new position in the UC Davis School of Education. On March 1, 2012, Andee will become the Director of Community Programs and Events. Andee will provide oversight for community programs and major events for the School of Education, including management of the Enrichment Camps Program for children and youth. Andee's 32 years of experience working with youth programs will bring tremendous value to the Camp Program. Andee also brings her conference and event planning expertise to this new position and will be the point person on several key events within the School, including the Literacy Summit, Equity Summit, SAYS Summit, and the Step-Up Conference among others.

Prior to seeking a new director, the CAN Leadership Team will meet in San Diego on April 12 to initiate a strategic planning process that will further focus the Network's priorities and major initiatives, providing the basis for defining its future leadership needs. Additional thought partners will assist the Network in its strategic planning process including Glen Price of the Glen Price Group who has ably assisted CAN with its previous strategic plans.
