About Michael Josephson

Michael Josephson Michael Josephson is the founder and president of the Josephson Institute. Through the Institute, Mr. Josephson founded CHARACTER COUNTS!, the nation's leading character education system. It now reaches six million youngsters through the CHARACTER COUNTS! Coalition, a widespread partnership of schools and youth-serving organizations.

In addition, Mr. Josephson has led more than 1,000 ethics trainings for over 100,000 leaders in business, government, the media, law enforcement and education. Utilizing the Institute's Ethics in the Workplace program, he provides a practical and comprehensive ethical decision-making model adaptable for a wide range of organizations.

Two Presidents, the Congress, most states and countless municipalities have endorsed the Coalition's approach and declared the third week in October "National CHARACTER COUNTS! Week." The Josephson Institute also launched the Pursuing Victory With Honor sportsmanship campaign, endorsed by virtually all amateur athletic organizations.

Mr. Josephson received the America's Award in 1995 from former President Ronald Reagan. In 2000, he was named to the Bush-Cheney Transition Advisory Committee as a nonpartisan character education expert.
