2005 Partner Recognition Honorees
Joe Torres
Nominated by: Juan Guerrero, Proteus
Joe Torres is a volunteer at Streetwise Partners who gives his time and efforts to work with youth who potentially can be involved in gangs, drugs or alcohol. He has unselfishly provided recreational, emotional, and spiritual support to the children of Tulare County; specifically North Visalia. Mr. Torres literally walks the streets of Visalia looking for wayward children who need the presence of kind fatherly adults. The children and families of North Visalia affectionately know Joe Torres throughout North Visalia as "Papa Joe". Joe Torres is also active in Young Life Ministries and uses his positive spiritual beliefs to guide children toward a better life. Thank you, Mr. Torres.
