Standards & Assessment

Faye Johnson, instructional consultant with the Tulare County Office of Education, heads the Program and Resource Development Department. During her many years in education, she has written successful grants, now totaling more than $20,000,000. She has also served as executive director of the Castle Air Force Base Challenger Learning Center Foundation. While working with Challenger, she wrote another successful grant application for $3,000,000 to make their dreams a reality.

Faye's philosophy is "Successful grant writers are not only the dreamers of our society, but the ones who have the tools to realize their dreams."

The Tulare County Cooperative for State and Federal Projects consists of 19 small school districts and the county office of education. The Co-Op provides an array of centralized services to member school districts. These include among others, filling out the Consolidated Application and related documents and reports, assistance with Coordinated Compliance Review, and technical assistance on developing school plans. Faye, Dr. Pansy Ceballos, and Connie Smith are co-directors of the Co-Op.

Standards and Assessment

These publications have been developed by the Tulare County Office of Education for California teachers, administrators, and parents engaged in the process of developing standards-driven curriculum, assessment, and accountability systems. They are designed to be used by individuals, teams, or schoolwide communities to facilitate the process of curriculum alignment. Workshops are also available and can be customized according to local experience and processes.
