Jane Mitchell serves as an English/Language Arts Instructional Consultant for the Tulare County Office of Education. Her responsibilities include assisting districts, schools and teachers by providing staff development in language arts and the implementation of state-adopted programs. Jane also provides professional development to schools that need assistance implementing research-based strategies meeting the needs of English Learners. She coordinates four county-wide student events: Storytelling, Young Authors' Faire, Foundations for Life and Expanding Your Horizons. Jane can provide assistance with Avenues training, Thinking Maps and Step-Up-To Writing.
Jane earned her Master's Degree from Fresno Pacific University with emphasis on Cross-Cultural Language Development. Prior to coming to TCOE, she was principal at Lincoln Elementary School in the Exeter Union School District.
