Staff Development and Curriculum Specialist

Carole Wiley serves as an English Language Arts Staff Development and Curriculum Specialist for the Tulare County Office of Education. Her responsibilities include providing staff development training in language arts and the implementation of state-adopted programs. In particular, she provides professional development for the implemention of research-based strategies for English Learners. She leads trainings for SB472 Language Arts Curriculum and English Learner Professional Development Institutes. She works closely with schools' ELA content experts to assist in developing school-wide Professional Learning Communities and the implementation of best instructional practices. Carole is also responsible for providing Tulare County teachers with updated information on California Common Core Content ELA Standards and State Board-adopted ELA curriculum.

Her background includes experience teaching grades K-6, as well as utilizing Reading Recovery and serving as a BTSA Support Provider, Teacher Coach, and Vice Principal. Carole received her Master of Arts Degree in Education and Supervision, as well as her Clear Administrative Credential from California State University, Fresno. Carole also earned National Board Certification in the area of Early Childhood/Generalist. Prior to coming to TCOE, she was an elementary school administrator for Lindsay Unified School District.
