Christine Roberts

- Mathematics

Christine Roberts Christine has a passion for mathematics, teaching, and continuous improvement at both the classroom and systems level. She has served as an educator in California’s Central Valley for over 16 years as a classroom teacher, department leader, instructional coach, adjunct professor, and staff development and curriculum specialist. Christine earned her master’s degree in curriculum and instruction with an emphasis in mathematics in 2005, deepening her passion for understanding student thinking and creating a student-centered approach to teaching mathematics. Since 2011, Christine has served as a Mathematics Staff Development & Curriculum Specialist for the Tulare County Office of Education where she provides support to districts in designing and implementing a high quality mathematics program for all students. She facilitates professional learning opportunities with teachers and administrators to support the growth of mathematics content knowledge, pedagogical knowledge, and knowledge of student thinking. Christine also serves as an Improvement Specialist for TCOE’s Central Valley Networked Improvement Community (CVNIC), a network of eight Tulare County school districts focused on increasing fifth-grade mathematics achievement utilizing improvement science. As a member of the CVNIC Hub, Christine is integrally involved in network planning, supporting network districts throughout action periods, and facilitating cross-district collaborations. Christine is connected with national, state, and local efforts for improving mathematics education as an active leader with the California Mathematics Council (CMC), currently serving as President Elect, and the National Council of Supervisors of Mathematics (NCSM) as a Western Region 2 Team Leader. Through her work, she strives to inspire and empower teachers and administrators in their efforts toward providing rich learning experiences for each and every student.
