Instructional Consultant

Jane Mitchell serves as an English Language Arts Instructional Consultant for the Tulare County Office of Education. Her responsibilities include assisting districts, schools and teachers by providing staff development in language arts and the implementation of state-adopted programs. Jane mentors school teams with Alternative Governance assistance. She provides professional development trainings to schools that need assistance implementing research-based strategies for English Learners, as well as trainings in MacMillan Treasures, Thinking Maps and Step-Up-To-Writing. Jane also serves to support instruction in all After School programs in the county, which include programs such as CHOICES, The Boys and Girls Club, HEART, and other school-based or city-sponsored after school programs.

Jane earned her Masters Degree from Fresno Pacific University with emphasis on Cross-Cultural Language Development and is currently enrolled in the doctoral program at University of the Pacific. Prior to coming to TCOE, she was principal at Lincoln Elementary School in the Exeter Union School District. Additionally she served for two years as principal in Earlimart School District from 2008 to 2010.
