Laura A. Gonzalez

Staff Development & Curriculum Specialist

Laura Gonzalez Inspired by her experience as an English Learner herself, Laura has dedicated much of her study and work in the field of English Language Development and supporting schools and districts with high populations of English Learners while also partnering with districts who are impacted with a high population of students currently living in poverty. She is an educational leader who serves as an instructional consultant at Tulare County Office of Education and is an adjunct professor at Fresno Pacific University where she teaches a course on Cultural Proficiency in the Administrative Program. In 2011-2012, she served on California’s ELD Panel of Experts which resulted in the creation of California’s new ELD standards. As a fellow in the English Learner Leadership and Legacy Initiative, she has learned to better advocate for the needs of English Learners and their families. Laura seeks opportunities to learn and collaborate with educators at all levels. She is a member at large in the Tulare County Hispanic Leadership Network where the goal is to better equip our administrators at their respective sites so that collectively we can enhance the opportunities afforded to our Latino students.
