Scott Pierce

Scott Pierce Scott joined Tulare County Office of Education in 2014 as an English Language Arts Staff Development and Curriculum Specialist after many years of teaching middle and high school English. Scott earned his B.A. in English from Sonoma State University with a concentration in American Literature, his M.A. in Reading from CSU Fresno, with a focus on secondary literacy issues facing underachieving adolescent students and is currently a doctoral student at the University of Southern California. His work at Tulare County Office of Education includes working in Alternative Secondary Schools, ERWC, Improvement Science, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), English Language Arts and English Language Development for secondary schools. Scott has presented at the local and state level on such topics as Critical Literacy, Access & Equity, Academic Discourse, ELA/ELD Framework, Writing Units of Study, and 21st Century Secondary English Classrooms.
