Early Stars helps you choose preschools and childcare for your young children by providing a star rating that is easy to understand.

What is Early Stars?

Tulare County Early Stars Early Stars is a free service in Tulare County that helps parents find care and education for their children based on quality.

How old does my child have to be?

The care and education is for children from birth through age five. It includes family care providers, center-based care and preschool.

How does it work?

Parents can view a list to find child care providers that have a quality star rating of 1 to 5 stars. The more stars, the higher the quality of care, similar to the star systems for hotels, restaurants or movies.

Why Early Stars?

Research shows that children from birth to age five who receive high quality care and education earn better grades when they begin school, are more likely to graduate high school, and are more likely to be successful in their careers. Choosing an early care provider is one of the most important decisions you will make as a parent. Early Stars quality rating is here to help make your choice clear and easy.
