  • Who will be admitted to the Teacher Career Fair?

    Only candidates who have pre-registered by January 31, 2017 and have received confirmation of registration will be admitted to the event at 4:00 p.m. Interested candidates that have not pre-registered will be admitted at 4:30 p.m.


  • I have completed all course work and taken all examinations, but I am still waiting for test scores. Will I be admitted to the Fair?

    Yes.
    • 4:00 p.m. admission to those who have pre-registered and received e-mail confirmation to attend
    • 4:30 p.m. admission for on-site registrants who are invited to attend


  • If I am an Out-of-State teacher, can I attend?
    Yes, as long as you complete online or on-site registration.


  • What time will candidates be admitted to the Fair?

    Those candidates who pre-register by successfully completing the online EDJOIN application by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 and meet all of the requirements will be eligible and admitted at 4:00 p.m.


  • How do I register for the Fair?

    You register for the Fair by completing the online EDJOIN application for this particular Recruitment Fair.

    Teacher candidates looking for a position for the upcoming school year are well-advised to create their "profile" on the EDJOIN job posting system. (To create your personal profile, go to www.edjoin.org/Account/Register.) Once a profile is created, a candidate may apply for multiple positions over a period of time; EDJOIN will auto-populate the majority of the information that is required from your profile on record.


  • If I have trouble completing the online application, whom should I contact?

    You may call the EDJOIN Help Desk between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, at 1-888-900-8945, or e-mail edjoinhelpdesk@sjcoe.net.


  • Should I include attachments with my EDJOIN application?

    Yes. It is preferred that you attach a copy of your valid credential or university eligibility letter, or district intern eligibility letter. It is recommended that you include all other attachments when you create your profile so that they will be available to administrators when you make application to specific school districts. (Hard copies of your attachments should be included in the packets which you intend to leave with school district administrators at the Fair).


  • I have completed the online application. What do I do next? How do I know if I will be admitted?

    Once you have successfully submitted your online application, you should receive an e-mail confirmation from EDJOIN. You will receive a second e-mail from EDJOIN. This second e-mail will serve as confirmation of your eligibility to be admitted to the fair at 4:00 p.m.


  • Can I register on-site the day of the Fair?

    Yes. Candidates that do not pre-register but meet the eligibility requirements will be admitted at 4:30 p.m.


  • Will districts have me complete their application?

    Some districts may ask you to complete their specific district's application form. The online application for this particular Fair is primarily for pre-registration purposes and for contacting prospective candidates once the Fair is over. However, some districts use this application as their district application.


  • What should I include in my packets?

    A well-prepared candidate will bring interview packets completed and duplicated for distribution to local districts. A complete packet consists of:
    • Letter of Introduction
    • Resumé
    • Copies of CBEST, CSET and RICA test results
    • Copy of your Teaching Credential(s) or other CTC permit/credential
    • Letters of Recommendation (three current letters within the last few years are preferred)
    • 15 to 20 packets recommended


  • To whom do I address my letter of introduction?

    The Human Resources Administrator should be named as your school district point of contact.


  • Do my transcripts need to be official?

    Unofficial transcripts are acceptable for the Teacher Recruitment Fair. You would need to provide official transcripts to a school district upon receiving an offer of employment from that district.


  • How do I get a copy of my current credential from the CTC website?

  • How many packets should I bring?

    We estimate that 15-20 school districts will be participating in the Fair. The number of packets you bring is entirely up to you. Some candidates prefer to limit their search to a specific geographic area, while others attempt to contact as many districts as time allows. It is better to overestimate than to not have enough once you get there.


  • What should I wear?

    You should dress in professional attire. You will find yourself in employment interview situations.


  • I hold a Pupil Personnel Services Credential or an Administrative Services Credential. May I attend this event?

    Yes. Please be sure to bring packets containing the recommended documents listed above.
