About the Program

The Social Security Administration (SSA) administers a national Ticket to Work program providing employment services to social security disability beneficiaries, ages 18-64, who want to work. SSA issues “Tickets” to eligible adult beneficiaries, which can be used to obtain rehabilitation and/or employment services from any Employment Network (EN) a beneficiary chooses. The Tulare County Office of Education has been appointed by the SSA to serve as an EN and offers this program locally and nationally as A Ticket to Success.

Why Sign Up?

The program offers supports and services for Ticket holders to find and keep a job as they move toward financial independence, including:

  • Assistance with resumes, interviews and job applications;
  • Counseling and resources to better understand your employment options;
  • Job leads and employer information; and
  • Support to help you enter, return to, or remain on the job

In addition, our certified benefits counselors can provide information on work incentives for Ticket holders. Incentives include:

  • Keep your Medicare or Medi-Cal benefits after cash benefits end due to work or earnings;
  • Medical reviews are waived while participating in the program;
  • If your cash benefits end because of your earnings, and you become unable to work again because of your medical condition, you may ask to restart your benefits again (within five years) and you don't have to reapply.
