On Physics Day, Tulare County eighth-grade students head to the Porterville Fair armed with worksheets, calculators, and accelerometers for lessons in physics.
The day begins with hands-on activities. Students will work together launching rockets and self-propelled boats, designing towers with straws, and building catapults with rubber bands. Afterward, students have an opportunity to step into an experiment on the midway rides, subjecting themselves to forces in excess of 1-G.
Space is limited to 8th grade, registrations will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis.
