WorkAbility I is a grant program funded and administered by the California Department of Education. The WAI program provides comprehensive pre-employment skills training, employment placement and follow-up for students in special education who are making the transition from school to work, independent living and post-secondary education. The program partners with local employers to provide job placement opportunities for students so that they can gain valuable work experience while receiving support from WAI staff.  The program focuses on students in TCOE’s Community-Based Instruction classes, but is open to other eligible high school students within TCOE-served programs, as well.
